Care is not difficult; what matters most is avoiding a few habits that can damage the surface.<\/p>\n<h2>How should everyday cleaning be done?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Use a soft cloth:<\/strong> A slightly damp microfibre or cotton cloth is enough to remove dust and marks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mild soapy water is enough:<\/strong> For stubborn marks, add a few drops of liquid soap or a pH-neutral detergent to lukewarm water.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Finish by drying:<\/strong> Drying the surface with a dry cloth after wiping prevents water spots.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Follow the texture:<\/strong> On wood-grain surfaces, moving the cloth along the grain gives a cleaner finish.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What should you avoid?<\/h2>\n<p>The following products and methods can dull, scratch or discolour the foil surface:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acetone, thinner and solvent-based cleaners<\/li>\n<li>Bleach and products with a high alcohol content<\/li>\n<li>Powder detergents, abrasive creams and steel wool or hard scouring pads<\/li>\n<li>Steam cleaners and water left standing on the surface<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Heat and steam: the biggest thing to watch in the kitchen<\/h2>\n<p>PVC foil is sensitive to high heat and prolonged steam. That is why the fronts right next to the oven, hob and dishwasher are the parts under the most strain.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Use heat shield strips:<\/strong> Heat shield strips fitted to fronts next to ovens and built-in appliances keep hot air away from the foil.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do not open the dishwasher too early:<\/strong> Wait a few minutes after the programme ends before opening the door; the hot steam that escapes can damage the worktop edge and the fronts next to it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do not run kettles or coffee machines under wall cabinets:<\/strong> Rising steam can gradually cause the bottom edge of wall cabinet fronts to lift.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Remove the protective film after installation<\/h2>\n<p>In protective-film series, the surface is covered with a thin clear film so it is not scratched during production and transport.
